That is indeed the huge change that happens with this technology  
transition. One can become much more opportunistic and explore lots  
of "useless" stuff because cost per shot is very low, it's hard to  
"run out of film".

I think it bodes well for whole new areas of photographic expression.  
Sure, there's a lot of junk, but once past the "blast the shutter  
randomly because it just feels good" phase of things and start really  
looking at all those bits and pieces you captured, patterns and ideas  
start to emerge from the activity which educates your eye to do more  
things.

It's very different from the "I have 12 pieces of film to work with,  
I need to see and choose beforehand what is worth capturing" mindset ...

Both are valid ways of working. That's why I have the Pentax 645 now.
