P.S. Paul, I think, but am not sure, but I think it is possible bird people may be more fussy about bird shots than a lot of other people. One thing, yes, is that they do want field markings clearly visible so the bird can be identified. As to how important the depicting surrounding habitat is, not sure. Probably depends on the bird and how hard it is to identify. So even soft shots might be okay as long as field markings are clear.
