Dave, you're right. The 500DG Super arrived back from Sigma today (mailed Friday--pretty quick!).
On-camera it works fine, but the wireless does not work =at all=. There is a preflash but no main flash. I've emailed Smegma...ummm, Sigma. I'll let you know what they say.
