Don't read this a s a recomendation, but the is a guy at DPReivew who does wonders with the Bigma. His nick is The hotell. Try to find his pictures and see for yourself. But I do think he needs very good light to do his magic.
What I see from Sigma 100-300/4 and 1,4x suggests very good bokeh for a zoom TC combo.
