You are so kind, Paul. When he said outdoors without flash, I thought, "You don't know enough to be attempting this, Buddy". Surely if someone knows enough to be taking group photos (for serious purposes), he will know what lens to use. Besides my answer to that question was almost always, "The one you have", but in this age of affluence that is not much good anymore.
