I can't speak for Tom (or his doctor), but I know that with my GF the issue was that her doctor needed to made certain that none of the mould that I have is "black toxic mould" - which can cause cancer. All moulds are bad for her, but that one in particular would be quite devestating to her. Luckily, none was found.
