I just got back from a weekend in Rochester, NY. Photographically it was great, for two reasons:
First, the Lilac Festival was underway in Highland Park, a short walk from our B&B. The blooms are a little behind schedule this year, I'm told, but they were very nice, and the weather was perfect. I hope to have some PESOs sometime. Second, an Ansel Adams exhibit opened at the George Eastman House. It had 150 of his prints, all originals, ranging from his iconic scenics to some gorgeous close-up still life photos and portraits that I had never seen before. The close-ups changed the way I view his scenics, actually: they're all about texture. It's open through the summer, and well worth a trip. To spoil things, we also spent a day of hard labor moving our kids out of their dorm rooms at the U of R. Ugh.
