After a very rapid decline in energy and appetite over the last few days Beau was diagnosed yesterday with a massively enlarged prostate. Apple size instead of Walnut size. So far IV fluids and huge quatities of anti-biotics haven't had much effect. He is being kept comfortable though. A biopsy was taken today along with ultrasounds and sent off to Iowa State University for interpretation. Funny how a mere dog can grow on you over 8 years. About $700.00 so far and no intention of stopping while there is still a chance. Ain't us dog lovers an odd lot? To those who are like me, keep Beau in your thoughts, he's been a very good beast.
