Even as an "advanced amateur", I use Hyperprogram almost exclusively. Every once in a while I'll use TAv mode, or fully manual mode, but that's about it. Most of the time, which is at the race track, shooting the cars in action, I put it in "P" mode, manage the shutter speed with the wheel, and let the program sort out the aperture (effectively Tv mode). Since I'm shooting raw, it's not hard to take care of the small exposure differences that sometimes creep in. In this situation, I usually set the custom function to MTF mode, for those moments when I intentionally hit the green button to go into full "P" mode to get a quick shot or check the cameras thoughts on the base exposure. Typically, though, the manually selected shutter speed obviates the MTF mode. In full manual mode, I also set the custom function to MTF mode, because I usually use the in-camera metering (via the green button) to set the base exposure, then move from there with the wheels. -- Thanks, DougF (KG4LMZ) -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net
