I tend to use a monopod with this combo.
I don't mind the weight, 'cause I don't bring it where ever I go. But when I
shoot a soccer game, a concert or a lecture/public meeting -  it does bring
quite nice results. That's what counts.
People who see my photographs don't seem to care about the weigth :-)
My only regret is that the zoom ring is kinda hard to opereate from beneth,
while mounted on this body.
