Being a bit fussy, I don't think I ever bought a cheap lens to begin  
with, so it took me a longer time to see the benefits of a higher end  
lens.

Yes, that's part of the critical evaluation that says you can discern  
the difference. ;-)
On the other hand, most of the better performing lenses in the world  
aren't faster than that anyway.

I think it is stupid but funny. "Always" is a bit over the top,  
though, as it has only been around for a year or two far as I can  
recall. It's a silly as "enablement".
