I agree. Nice shot. The focus disparity allows the separation and
doesn't bother me a bit.
The OOF background birds in your subject shot simply add to the chaos
and intensity of their situation in the heavy weather. The rear facing
near bird is just sharp enough, under these conditions, to work fine.
Especially for a series.
