From October 5-11 I was visiting my parents in London (Ontario, Canada). I had my ZX5n and MX with me, and did a lot of railroad photography. If you are into trains then London is a real mecca. There a number of spots just outside of the city where you can get up close safely and get some great action shots. The one I favour is on a dead end road, where a bridge spans both the Canadian National and Canadian Pacific main lines (which are only about 30' apart at this point). It is a popular railfanning site with the locals, and I was seldom there alone. I met one fellow Pentax photographer there with a K1000 and ME Super draped around his neck.
In all, lots of fun and and lots of photos. On my drive west from Maine to Ontario I stopped at Classic Camera in Biddeford and picked up my SMC 28mm 3.5 after having had the slow aperture fixed. It is working fine, now. In London I visited the various camera shops. If you get paid in US dollars then there are some real bargains in photographic equipment to be found in Canada these days. I picked up an FA 135mm in new condition at Stan C Reade's for C$295. Even with taxes my credit card was charged US$209. I also spotted a used P3 for C$39.99 and a Pentax 50mm macro for C$99.00...though I resisted the urge to get those. And finally, I played with an MZ-S for the first time...lovely! -- Steve [EMAIL PROTECTED] - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List.
