Klaus has tested both the Pentax DA14 and DA12-24 lenses now:

Klaus' formal bench testing matches my informal testing impressions  
almost exactly.

Summary: both are excellent. The DA14 shows slightly less barrel  
distortion, slightly better chromatic aberration control, and  
slightly higher resolution at its peak performance lens opening.

The differences are small. Which lens you choose should be based on  
your particular needs and desires, plus price/size/weight  
considerations.

I'm still happy with the 14mm. ;-)
