Try one of G Contaxes if you can. They have excellent build quality and extremely nice Carl Zeiss optics built like Pentax Limited lenses but at the fraction of their price. Optically they are among the best. My friend did some comparison tests between Planar T* 45/2 and Pentax SMC-FA 50/1.4. Planar won hands down, you can see the results here (don't try to read comments, it's in Polish ;-) http://www.pentax.org.pl/viewtopic.php?t=3797&highlight=planar AF is somewhat noisy but reliable and quite fast, working even in complete darkness (red pattern assist in G1, IR active assist in G2). As a bonus you get nice handling and exposure system SLR-like. One thing that most people should try before is viewfonder - quite small and requires you to look straight into. But if you can get used to that results will be just great! More info about this system is here: http://contaxg.com/contaxuser/ http://www.contaxusa.com/product.asp?itemnum=202000 Cheers, Sylwek -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net
