Mark,

Yes, the weekend was much too short.
GFM Nature Photography Weekend is a wonderful thing.
I would encourage everyone to go.

On photography,
The presentations are 1st class.
And the entry fee is cheap.
If you camp on the mountain with the majority of the pdml,
costs are frugal. (Otherwise, it's $100/nite at Best Western.)
We're going home via the Smokey's today. My wife pointed to
the three Photography books on sale at the Ranger's station.
All three by presenters we had seen at GFM in the last 3 years.
It's a chance to learn a lot.

On socialization of our list,
Although we didn't have Frank T or Bill R or Norm (?),
We did have strong representation from the Commenwealth with
Dave Savage from Perth, Cotty from Oxford, and Dave Brooks from
our friendly neighbor to the north, plus lots of US pdml contributors.
I think meeting these people in person contributes a lot to the
level of civility we have on the list. It's hard to have a flame war
with somebody you've met and had a few beers with.
These are quality people and fun to be around.

GFM Nature Photography Weekend is really something that Hugh Morton
gave to us and Don Nelson continues to facilitate despite his fight for health.
Many folks felt like the spirit of Mr Morton was with us on the
mountain this weekend. Things were that good...

Hope you all made it home safe. Regards, Bob S.
