Good point. However, most any radiation can affect a film
emulsion, and if the USPS is planning this as an anti terrorist
measure to kill anthrax spores and the like, the amount of
irradiation would be quite high.
As a photographer, I would be quite concerned if I mailed film
regularly. As a citizen, I would be quite concerned if the
postal service didn't take some sort of action to ensure that
opening a letter wasn't a death sentence.
