I'd like to say this isn't an ad, but it sort of is, since I'm quite
involved with developing the server version of this stuff.
Before you load something else, give this a try:

I much prefer it over most others, including 'buntu.
Even as an old Windows guy I don't care for Vista.
Especially the price tag for the expanded versions.
