Luckily, we had a very wet winter in the UK, and water restrictions
imposed last year ended a couple of months ago (depending on area). No
hosepipe ban here. But, I hear you say, you wouldn't expect one in England.

Just been to film a garden west of London (Maidenhead) where the Sri
Lankan owner is growing bananas.

Outside.

Planted 7 years ago as a two-foot plant, it's now 6 times that, and a
huge blossom has appeared, with three-inch long bananalettes behind it.
