I was bummed out when I found the Cougar enclosure was modified (a 2 foot
plastic barrier had been added to the existing wall) effectively restricting
my use of a 600 lens to capture Cougar head shots.
I then turned my attention to landscapes & wildflowers.

After 70 or so images I decided I had better put three of them on a CD for
submission.
I had pretty well decided on which ones by chimping in camera.
After trying several generously donated laptops (remember I didn't have a
laptop to bring) Tom Reese loaned me his wife's new Dell which had CS 2
installed (what I use @ home), well that was short lived as the battery ran
low & shut down before I could attach the recharger. I needed a password to
get back in but by this time Tom was gone and time was really running short.
So it was back to another laptop with Elements (which I never used before).
What I normally would have done with these images would have been to convert
from RAW, check white point/black point, resize, check hue/saturation,
sharpen & then save on a CD. But I was having a hard time finding all this
in elements & at this point I came real close to not submitting any images.
After again reviewing the three images I felt the images had strong enough
subjects & compositions that I could submit them without the usual PS work &
just resize, label & save, which I did.

I delivered the CD to Doug a few minutes before 3.

Glad I did as one of the three "Culvert Color" won first place in
accomplished wildflower!

I guess I learned about persistence & getting it right the first time - in
camera.

Might have to pop for a laptop the next time.
