Neat shot, Paul. :-) All this VW Bug stuff... I had a '63 Bug for a bit, part of an increasingly ridiculous gambit by a friend of mine and I to avoid getting arrested for driving without a license during a particularly noisome period in our errant youth. Gray stealth Bug ... It was definitely named "The AntiChrist" ... I remember desperately trying to clear the windshield one evening while driving home in cool humid weather and having my passenger reaching out through the sunroof to wipe it... My other VW was a '64 Microbus, tourist version with the high skylight windows, bought all set up as a mini camper. I paid $400 for it in 1981 and lived in it for a bit while I was going to school (well, between it and my tent in the meadow behind the college... but that's a long story). One day after I had more permanent accommodations, another car smacked into me while driving to school and rammed it over a curb, wiping out the transmission and all the suspension bits on the right hand side. Insurance paid it off for about $1000. A sad end to the "Slower Than Most But Faster Than Light" as it had come to be called. Wish I had photos of these beasties, but I only rarely take pictures of my cars or bikes. Godfrey -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net
