Dear All, I was born in Hong Kong and live my life here. It is correct that we see more and more Pentax here in recent 2 to 3 years. It was after the new range of DSLR.
3 or 4 years ago, you can hardly find any Pentax camera or lens in most of the local photo shops. I use both Pentax and Nikon and bought most of my gears from Kowloon Photo Services but they had problem getting Pentax gears from local distributor, they simply were not in the mood of doing business. The only place that one can get the less common things is a small shop in Hung Hom, you can find the complete series of Ltd lenses even in black color there. Nowadays, they are more common and supply is not interrupted. I think locally Pentax DSLR is getting about 5-10% of the market, not bad for a late start. BTW, I will be very cautious when shopping gears in MongKok, make sure you know what you want and check everything carefully.
