The only body that I'm aware of that had large differences in  
behavior, beyond the scope of the usual release notes that accompany  
the firmware upgrade, was the *ist DS. If you download the manual for  
the *ist DS2, its instruction are a better match to the latest fw  
upgrade available for the DS body.

There are small notes that accompany each firmware update. I've not  
found any reason to need anything deeper for the K10D's updates.

(The Panasonic L1 recently got a fw v2 update that is extensive  
enough that they put out a five page PDF addendum...)
