It is quite possible and very common to accidentally have more than
one program pre-setting the LUT on a Windows machine. Documentation
for most applications warn of the possibility but who reads...

Not all of these types of applications use the start-up folder hence
my earlier suggestion to use Mike Lim's start-up utility to
check/manage the start-up applications.
