No. It would have been helpful if I could have made one work, but even a soft-edged one would have been too obvious for my taste. As I recall, it was pretty much a straight shot, with no filters of any kind. Using Kodak E100SW film (this was taken in June of 2002). The light was the reason I was attracted to the scene. Even though there are large areas that are blown out, I still like the result.
