I've, also, read that there are those who feel the 80~320 is somewhat
sharper than the 100~300.
This particular lens was bought from Adorama ($189) with a "demo"
rating and appears to never have even been handled. Zoom and manual
focus ring are both smooth and snug. Bought a metal hood that when put
in place, feels and sounds like the lens threads are NOT plastic.
Pleasant surprise.
