Rob's right.  That's exactly what it means.  Pentax as an 'independent' 
corporate entity will no longer exist.  They are essentially a brand name of 
Hoya Corporation.

Whether that translates to consumers, since they'll continue to see simply 
Pentax (I assume) on the gear, is another matter.

Whether it is good for Pentax owners and enthusiasts remains to be seen.
