Friday, June 29th - wallet stolen
the good news: only one credit card, one debit card and $6 cash in
it... got the
cards stopped before anyone used them...

bad news - getting my metro pass was a PITA... losing some personal
stuff was
  sad

Saturday: The real memorial event for my friend Nora -
Thought I was shooting mostly for myself - but actually the family once
again wanted certain specific
things so the gallery is a bit of stuff I'm proud of and a bit of stuff
I had to put in because it was
necessary documentation....

This was a truly wonderful event and tribute and had an air of
celebration for a life fully lived...
here is the link to that gallery

A side light to the event was that the exhusband of Nora's older
daughter had a K10D. I had not
seen him in years but certainly knew him back then and stayed at his
home when it was Alices home, too.

I mention PDML -- he says he lurks and never has posted... I beseached
him to post something from the
weekend. We shall see if he does :) :)

During the week I find out that two local establishments have closed
taht wer dear to the neighborhood.
a tiny meat market less than a block from me and a rather well known
Polish restaurant called Teresa's.

Then there is the ebay nightmare...
1st I sell the Canon EOS film camera and get stiffed on it -- guy never
even answers my email -
then I try to get my final value fee and click on the wrong button which
nullifies my refund (I've
already sent email off about that) and THEN I relist the thing and get
a phony bid - one more
from across the big pond.... a phony paypal for a larger amoung than the
camera - you know the drill.

Finally, the guy who I designed the book cover for months ago called....
he wants to totally redo the front cover.
It's too busy. Mind you, although a lot of folk thought it looked
terrific, I have to confess I thought it
too busy and confusing and I've never really liked his book title
either...

I wish I could talk him out of the idea of a guy with a gold walking
stick walking in the woods and
running into a big boulder... everything is always a rush, of
course... I did the BACK cover over 3 times
and that involved virtually no graphics - just text changes.

It is an op for making some more money but I find it hard to wrap my
creative brain around his concept. Sigh.

all of this is eclipsed by the unexpected passing of another person -
the older sister of one of my very closest friends.
So I'm kinda a mess
