The problem I describe here is with a new card. I did leave the old card in the bin, but wound up sending the K10D to Pentax Service this PM. I called and spoke with a person claiming to be a Pentax Tech, but got almost nothing from her but a transfer to a "return instructions" recording. I asked her if she had ever heard of this problem and got the feeling she had already forgotten what I had told her..sigh. I asked if I'd be reimbursed for the shipping (since under warranty) and got a weak "no". Had I chosen to return it to B&H, my guess is that I would have received a UPS shipping label back to B&H, but after my AF540 experience with Adorama, decided against it. (It got lost somewhere between Adorama and Pentax Service and 'prox 2 month after I sent it, I finally received a replacement).
