He said "Jaguar and Chrysler are owned by Ford *and* BMW.

Although that's wrong; Chrysler is owned by DaimlerChrysler AG, not BMW 
... at least until Daimler can find some venture capital suckers to 
unload it on.

BMW used to own Rover, until they sold it to Ford. (MG ended up being 
spun off to venture capitalists in the deal and eventually got sold to 
the Chinese).

FWIW, if I remember correctly, Ford has recently announced Jaguar is up 
for sale too.

Wonder what the Chinese are going to do with MG?
