That's true, but you're making an awful lot of assumptions on how the system works. For all we know, they may be using the member votes as simply an advisory and allowing the "official" judges to still pick anything they like. That's certainly how I'd do it - for exactly the reasons you note, but we simply don't know. >I'm certainly not qualified to judge other's photographs.
