The K100D Super is an upgrade to the K100D which enables using the DA* lenses' in-lens focus motors. I don't know that it's actually shipped yet. > Can someone who has used both cameras please tell me what to expect > when > moving from the DS to the K100 or K100 Super? I didn't feel the K100D offered enough over the DS to be worth it as an upgrade purchase, particularly given the downgrade in RAW buffer space and viewfinder optics. Either will produce the same quality photos, however, and if you were enough with the DS the K100D should not get in your way other than if you do sequence photography very often. The K10D is another matter entirely. A short list of improvements: - far faster writing to storage, even with the same speed card - far more accurate metering calibration - much faster autofocus - weather sealing - no useless (to me) program preset modes - more useful exposure modes ... Sv, TAv, program line - better controls - 29% more linear resolution - more controls - more customizable control configuration - even better image stabilization than the K100D - front and rear IR remote sensors for wireless tripod operation One minor detail: the DS/DS2 models were the last Pentax DSLRs which supported old-fashioned, straight TTL flash metering, with external flash units. The K100D and K10D series support only P-TTL dedicated flash metering. (Any of them can be used with appropriate non- dedicated flash units, of course.) There's lots more. The K10D is well worth the extra money to me. I still have one of my DS bodies and I use it now and then for tabletop work, but the K10D is what I grab the vast majority of the time.
