Peter, The KX doesn't turn on the meter until you pull the winder lever into the standoff position. Pull it out just a bit and have another go at it. (Eric @ PentaxRepairs pointed this out to me one day when I asked him to repair my KX meter.) ;-) Regards, Bob S.
