Each person has to get their own style and flow.  No software product
is for everyone.  Lightroom wasn't the tool for me on two counts.
First, it was rather slow - especially compared to other raw
converters.  Second, it is much more than just a raw converter (may
contribute to slowness) and I already have several tools to deal with
organization, gallery creation, client ordering, etc.  So it just
doesn't work ideally for me.
