Bob, Clint Eastwood did "Flags of Our Fathers" based on the book of the same name written by James Bradley and Ron Powers about the Battle of Iwo Jima and the book "Raising the flag on Iwo Jima". The companion film of the Battle of Iwo Jima was told from the eyes of the Japanese in "Letters From Iwo Jima", which was based on the book "Picture Letters from Commander in Chief" by Tsuyoko Yoshido and Tadamichi Kuribayashi, as well as "So Sad To Fall In Battle: An Account of War" by Kumiko Kakehashi.
