The opinions expressed at Stan Halpin's site are not very favorable:

Also, 28mm is only a wide normal FOV on the K10D.  IMO you'd be  
better off with the 18-55 kit lens or if you need more reach and can  
spend a bit more, the Sigma 17-70, so as to get some more room at the  
wide end.
