That was one of the reasons they did not want to give cops automatics in the old days here in the USA. Then they seemed to have decided the cops were some sort of paramilitary. Never understood that myself. If a cop needs more than five rounds, he should have called in a swat team. But then the cops have often been far more dangerous to the populace than the crooks.
