For those interested, the August PHIG monthly meeting on Wednesday, August 15, 7:30-9:00pm, will be held in the gallery and will feature a discussion with the photographers talking about the work they have entered in this exhibit. Black and white, and color artworks featuring a variety of photographic processes will be on display from August 1st to the 31st at the Pacific Art League’s Norton Gallery at 668 Ramona Street in Palo Alto. Hours are 9-5pm Monday-Friday and 10-4pm on Saturdays. The public is invited to an opening reception with the artists on Friday, August 3rd, from 6-9pm. The show’s juror, Robert Buelteman, a nationally recognized fine art photographer, will comment on the show and award prizes at 7pm. The Photography Interest Group (PHIG) is composed of more than 100 amateur and professional photographers affiliated with the Pacific Art League. Established in 2002, PHIG provides a forum for discussion and exchange between aspiring fine art photographers located on the San Francisco peninsula. The group is open to photographers at all levels of experience and promotes the sharing of practical information through monthly meetings and annual group shows.
