I'm at SIGGRAPH in San Diego where that paper was presented on Monday. Actually one of the authors is a friend of a good friend of mine. They use, and acknowledge it, images from Flickr, those under Creative Commons licenses. The full paper is downloadable from the link below, for those who are technically inclined. http://graphics.cs.cmu.edu/projects/scene-completion/ While you are at it, check out this other one: http://www.faculty.idc.ac.il/arik/ (look at the pdf of the first publication, called "Seam Carving for Content-Aware Image Resizing" --there's a video there too) It is an incredibly simple technique, so much so that I'm amazed it wasn't done 10-15 years ago. The results are pretty impressive, too. I'm going to try and implement it in the next couple of weeks. I'll share it with the list when I do. j > > > > > I wonder if it replaces ugly people? > > > > Can anything really replace ugly people? > Besides, we need them to keep the bar at a reasonable level. > > William Robb > > > -- > PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List > [email protected] > http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net > -- Juan Buhler - http://www.jbuhler.com photoblog: http://photoblog.jbuhler.com a book: http://www.jbuhler.com/book.html -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net
