The EF 65mm MP-E macro lens will go up to 5:1 magnification which is pretty impressive and will accept the ringflash. This page will be of use: <http://www.vividlight.com/articles/2914.htm> Working distance is very close at high mag though - helps if your bugs are dead : <http://www.cottysnaps.com/snaps/nature/images/pic20.html> For greater working distances he/she really needs the EF 180mm 3.5 macro but that's not cheap. Mind you, neither are ring flashes ! Funnily enough I am on the verge of selling some Canon lenses and the 65mm macro is one of those. I haven't priced it up yet, but I'm thinking in the region of £450 or so but if in the USA you'd be better of buying there. Pentax content: I'm keeping my 1DmarkII and converted A*85mm 1.4 and K15mm 3.5 lenses. Cold dead hands and all that :-) HTH -- Cheers, Cotty ___/\__ || (O) | People, Places, Pastiche ||=====| http://www.cottysnaps.com _____________________________ -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net
