I placed my order on March 21, 2007 to Adorama, still waiting.  If any
of you who placed it to the same place have received it, let me know.
I want to be sure how they handle the backlog.  I ask because I was told
by one sales person that my order was to be sent by Monday last week.  I
called customer service and they said they did not have the lens yet.
Who was telling the truth?  I do not know, yet , and I do not like to be
told false information.

Adorama told another would-be buyer that they won't have the lens until 
September.

This is typical of Adorama. They advertise new Pentax gear very early 
and let you order. Then they seem consistently to be among the last 
places actually to have the gear to sell. I have placed early orders 
with Adorama for many forthcoming items, and usually have this experience.

With the K10D, I ordered early with Adorama, then watched in frustration 
as nearly every other camera store in the U.S. got the camera before 
Adorama. Finally I called them, and was told the usual brush-off story: 
They didn't have it yet. When I pointed out that everyone else had it, 
they checked and sure enough: The cameras were in a warehouse. All early 
orders shipped that day, but only because I made a nuisance of myself.

I suspect that at Adorama, the right hand has trouble communicating with 
the left. I would not be surprised if they have the DA* lenses, but the 
sales and customer service staffs don't know it. If you call again, you 
have to insist that they look into it beyond the canned message that 
their computer screen displays.

I got my DA* lenses from B&H this time. I am no longer placing early 
orders with Adorama.
