Mark, FWIW, I find the D1 and the istD giving me good images at decent
shutter and Ap speeds. My experiments with the K10D and D200 yield
very long exposure times and slight poorer results.
The istD is a bit better than the D1.

A lot of people on the nikond1 dot net BB have converted D70's and
D100's and the samples look good to me.
