Other than noting that they are properly coated and have normal Hoya etc
machining and lettering and are apparently optically flat how else can we
test the filters?

I found that what I got passed all the above tests and I believe them to be
genuine.

At first, it looks like they are selling fake Hoya filters.
But at the same time, they also sell B+W filters (boxed).

Probably they get filters directly from factory (somewhere in China), 
and sell them without any additional tax, etc... etc...

P.S. Anyone tested filters?
