I'm certainly not prepared to pay the kind of money they want for a carbon frame. Not that I think spending $3500 or more on a bicycle is ridiculous if it's worth it to you - it just isn't worth it to me. (After all, most people think spending $3500 on a lens is crazy). For 10% of that price I got a bike that's well suited to my uses, with brand names (Raleigh, Shimano, etc.) that I recognize. It was interesting looking at the prices before I purchased. The mass consumer market seems to be in the $200-$400 range (street price). There are cheaper bikes available (as low as $60!), but the largest choice is definitely in that price bracket. Then, at the enthusiast part of the market, there's a cluster around that $3500 price point. In between there's far less choice (and you practically have to visit a good brick-and-mortar cycle store to find out what really exists). -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net
