Very interesting, Rob. Thanks!

That looks indeed like some of what I had in mind. :-)

However, I think I would like to raise them on the flexibility. Their
solution is a straight ring, while I want to retain the possibility of
directing the light at will. I've been on the phone with the Norwegian
company I mentioned yesterday, and they found the idea quite
interesting. They will provide me with a simple unit for creating a
proof of concept. Right now the main challenge is the same as William
Robb described, to create a holster to fit over the flash. Also, I'll
have to figure out how to hold the ends of the fibres in place. I
suspect that a Cokin P adapter may be sacrificed for that purpose. :-)
