If cost is a consideration, you might consider doing what I just did: pick up a used Nikon LS-2000 on eBay for about U.S. $600 or so. It is a very good scanner. Most of these that are being listed come from the U.S. (120 volts), so to use in Hong Kong you would need a voltage reducer.
