While we're discussing modern geniuses of the art world, I had lunch with friends yesterday in the courtyard of the Royal Academy, and was thrilled to see David Hockney wandering around. Very modest and friendly he seemed to be. I didn't talk to him, but plenty of people did and he seemed like a really nice man.
