Godfrey, You really nailed it on this one. Stunning photograph. It's reminicent of a shot from an antique fixed focus lens camera. I suppose it must be hot exhaust fumes that are blurring out the area just behind the engine and toward the back and right, but it appears to produce a shallow DOF (even though you shot @ f11) that for me, really makes the shot. The black and white is perfect and the subject matter fitting.
