If you put a carbon & stainless steel rod into the solution, & hook
them up to a power source. the silver will come out of solution &
stick to one of them (I can't remember which one is the cathode or
anode).

There used to be a local company that took spent mini lab/radiology
lab chemicals & recovered the silver. They apparently also had a way
of recovering the silver from old x-rays.

I used to store my spent fixer in a plastic jerry can. When I had
collected enough my Dad would take it to work and dump it in their
dirty chemicals drum.

Cheers,

Dave
