I wouldn't expect a straight answer out of a camera shop either. For K-mount lenses without contacts, you need to do one or more of the following steps: 1. Upgrade the firmware (*istD) 2. Set the custom menu function that allows the shutter to release with a non-A lens (same option that makes screwmount lenses work). 3. Set the camera to M mode (manual exposure) 4.
